Description
Panda Ribbon Guppy — Flowing Fins, Bold Panda Pattern
The Panda Ribbon Guppy brings together a striking panda-style color pattern and one of the most graceful traits in the hobby — the ribbon gene. This gene lengthens the fins into long, flowing ribbons that trail behind the fish and ripple with every movement, creating a soft, silky effect in the water.
The sharp panda contrast gives the fish a clean, eye-catching look, while the trailing fins add elegance and drama. In a calm, planted tank, a Panda Ribbon drifting through open water is a real showstopper.
Despite their exotic look, they keep the peaceful guppy temperament. Because of their long fins, they do best in gentle water flow with plenty of open swimming space, soft plants and calm tankmates that will not nip at their fins.
A note for breeders: the ribbon trait also lengthens the male’s breeding fin, so ribbon males can find mating difficult. Breeders usually pair ribbon females with normal-finned males of the same line to keep a healthy, strong strain.
