Spotting a problem early and treating quickly gives your fish the best chance of recovery. Many keepers keep a bottle of Mala Green F on hand so they can act as soon as signs such as small white spots, cotton-like patches or rubbing against objects appear.

For best results, treat in a separate hospital tank where possible, keep water clean and well-oxygenated during treatment, and complete the full course shown on the pack even if signs disappear early.

Malachite green is toxic to shrimp, snails and other invertebrates, and scaleless fish (such as loaches and catfish) are more sensitive, so a reduced dose or a different treatment may be needed for them. It is not for use on fish intended for human consumption. Wear gloves when handling. Always follow the dosage on the pack. Remove activated carbon from the filter during treatment, as it absorbs medicine.
